Spend and reassign your upgrades
Use Protoplasm at an Evolve Chamber to improve your build. You can refund a purchased upgrade by selecting it with the same purchase input, then spend the refunded Protoplasm on a different choice. Experiment with upgrades when a fight exposes a weakness in your current setup.
Scan before abandoning a route
The scanner reveals more than enemy information. Use it around suspicious walls, gates and machinery. Possessing an access permission does not always open the matching barrier automatically: the Wastes permission gate is one place where scanning matters.

Read your map objectives
Check the Objectives information on the map for direction. A visible destination is a reason to investigate, but a blocked path may still require a key, an ability or a scan. Revisit barriers as your equipment changes.
Keep moving with target lock
Target lock lets you keep an enemy selected while moving, jumping or charging a shot. Use the Target Lock binding shown in your own Controls menu. Controller aiming explains the launch control layout.
Return to difficult bosses stronger
If an Archives boss feels overwhelming, explore for boosters and improve your blasters or skills before trying again. You do not have to treat every encounter as a test of your starting build.
